The 84th Academy Awards - The 2012 Winners List

In yesterday's post I said I was considering watching this year's Oscars, yet I didn't end up doing so. Sky wasn't offering the ceremony for free so I went to the Oscars website to watch the stream. Since they streamed the nominations announcement for free, I was under the impression that they were going to stream the actual awards ceremony for free. But no, how optimistic of me.

In the end I followed the Oscars on Twitter. Everyone seemed to be tweeting so that was good enough. Better than watching Billy Crystal not being funny anyway. That may be harsh because I actually don't have any idea how he went hosting the show, but you know me; I'm a very pessimistic person.

On a positive note, of the twenty-four categories I got nineteen of my predictions right. Not bad going for someone who hasn't actually seen most of the films that were nominated. All I did was go by what I had heard and read. Turned out for the best.

I'm not going to go through all the nominations again, so if you want to read through the nominees and my predictions you can do so by reading yesterday's post. Other than that, the following is the full list of winners.

So, that's that. I was going to rant on about the fact that it's bullshit that there were only two nominations in the Best Original Song category, among many other things wrong with the nominations and winners, but I won't. Instead I'll leave you with this thought; [silence].
